Lenore Albert  is running for CDP Chair
________

Lenore Albert’s Top Three California Democratic Party (“CDP”) priorities as Chair

Priority One

First priority as Chair is to get the party in a position to win 2020 elections. Coming from Orange Count which did a historical flip from red to blue in 2018, Lenore Albert understands the modern approach it takes to achieve this for 2020.

Priority Two

Lenore’s Second priority as Chair is to get the ongoing litigation against the CDP resolved. As the only candidate with 17 years trial lawyer experience under her belt, Lenore Albert has the unique skillset to get this accomplished.

Priority Three

Lenore’s third priority as Chair is to ensure all proper safeguards are in place for the party and entire delegation so that there is swift and full accountability for inner party discrimination, bullying, harassment and other like shenanigans so this never happens again. As the only Chair candidate who owned a small business for 17 years without a single harassment complaint, she knows how to make this happen.

Lenore Supports Economic, Social & Environmental Justice

Healthcare

Millions of Californians are without access to quality health care or any health care at all. Lenore fully supports the California Democratic Party actively engaging in advocating for an Expanded and Improved Healthcare/Medicare for All single payer system or any other legitimate plan to ensure everyone has access to affordable health care.  After Lenore Albert was in a high-speed freeway car accident her insurance plan changed as the bills mounted higher and higher until she could no longer affordable the plan. As a person with pre-existing conditions, she is offended at the position others take that somehow the life of people with pre-existing conditions are just too burdensome. The burden is not people with pre-existing conditions. The burden is on the lack of sensible regulations controlling what health insurance companies, health care providers, and Big Pharma can do to the people who need healthcare.

Housing

Lenore supports increasing the protection for renters and mobile home owners as the cost of homeownership is becoming unattainable in many parts of our state. We need to enforce the mechanisms being passed requiring our local representatives to allow builders to build affordable housing units and mandate as much in a percentage when plans to build luxury homes are approved.

Lenore has spent the past nine years fighting Wall Street for homeowner’s rights and in 2011 she saved over 1,000 homes from foreclosure sale showing how dual tracking was not just a banking term, but illegal. That led the way for the state legislature to pass the Homeowner’s Bill of Rights the following year making dual tracking illegal in California.

The Elderly and Disabled

Lenore supports the CDP in advocating for independent living of the elderly and disabled wherever possible.

Lenore took care of her own disabled mother at home, rather than putting her in a facility for ten years until her mother passed away in 2009. She understands the great sacrifice that is made in that choice. She forwent having and raising a family of her own. There were not any services available or compensation for what Lenore did other than knowing in her heart she was doing the right thing for her mother and she was happy she could afford to do so.  The government has no absolute right to take an elderly or disabled person’s choice away if they want to live at home. Lenore Albert fully supports freedom of choice so long as there is no risk of danger to the community. She also supports funding services that assist those caretakers something that did not exist when she took care of her own mother.

Women and Children

The Presidential administration has incited and inflamed some of the worst traits against humanity and women and children across this country are suffering for it. Lenore advocates for women's rights from right to equal pay in the workplace to right to take control of their own body. She also has been very disturbed by the incidents of peer bullying in schools and children having to drill for school shooters. She is an advocate of requiring all firearm owners to purchase firearm insurance before they can purchase and take possession of a gun. She is also an advocate of firearm sensor nets within 100 yards of a school.

If you want a real revolution, then you need real solutions. Lenore Albert is the candidate who understands the party structure and has real viable solutions, some of which you saw implemented in the last election cycle.

OUR PLAN
Workplace Harassment Policies
Zero Tolerance Harassment by Delegates

Lenore Albert’s own history demonstrates she has zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment or bullying in employment settings.

As a business owner of seventeen years, she never had one employee harassment complaint under her lead. Her employees were all trained on workplace harassment and their rights and were given an employee handbook to refer to which complied with state and federal law.

As the CDP’s next chair, she will right this ship by implementing the same here for the employees.

Delegates are not employees, yet they are not immune from discrimination, harassment or bullying that unfortunately happens at every level in this party.

Lenore Albert has already taken steps to resolve our party’s current issues with harassment and bullying by distributing Orange County’s Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Resolution that was enacted in 2018 to the rest of the delegation to pass in their own county central committees or local clubs if they have not already done so.

She supports Rules in enacting and passing the same type of measures at the state level. She also supports educating delegates on their rights and responsibilities to their fellow delegates.

Membership Termination

Close the loophole on member terminations, making the time period of suspension reciprocal after issuing an Order to Show Cause why the member should not be terminated at the state level after being terminated at the county level for the same amount of time.

Dark/Suspect Money

Lenore Albert is opposed to Big Pharma, Wall Street and Big Oil money and has vowed to root out and shine a light on any dark/suspect money transactions. Our electeds need to be free to represent the people instead of worrying about their next campaign donation to win re-election. She also supports public elections and election reform measures.

As in 2017, she vows to actively solicit high level donors that are aligned with Our values stated in our platform.

Statewide Local Support

Lenore Albert wants to continue the Big Blue Wave which included augmenting the unions with outside local grassroots groups help; create baseline manuals for each central county committee; continue to shift more money to red districts and start our policy conversations the day after election is over.

She continues to support making the contacts of local delegates available to local clubs, central committee chairs and regional directors to synergize local organizing goals.

Red And Rural Districts

Lenore Albert will support the CDP in finding ways to establish reliable internet access to our rural areas and liberal media venues (e.g. radio talk shows).

She will continue to advocate for shifting money into the red districts and to bring elected officials into the red districts so that we can bridge programs.

Democratizing Chair Elections

Lenore Albert supports reforming how Chair elections are run. She has pledged to work with the Rules committee to require transparency in the money raised and expenses paid from all Chair candidates.

Equal time campaigning - every Delegate who chooses to invite one Chair candidate to participate in any event hosted by an official wing or entity of the CDP or one of its subsidiaries, must also invite all of the other candidates and give all candidates equal time.

Diverse Appointments

Lenore was a Co-Chair of Credentials. When the committee was reconstituted after the 2017 Chair’s race, 50% of the people appointed to Credentials voted for Kimberly Ellis. The other 50% of the people appointed to Credentials voted for Eric Bauman. The committee represented geographical, ethnic, gender, racial and religious diversity, too.

Just like how Credentials standing committee was reconstituted after the 2017 Chair’s race where Lenore Albert was co-chair, she will give everyone a seat at the table when making truly diverse appointments on the standing committees and beyond. We can reevaluate this decision after one year.

Caucus To Chartered Organization Pipeline

Lenore Albert supports creating a real pipeline so caucuses can become statewide chartered organizations, opening up seats for new caucuses to incubate with the support of the CDP structure and grow.

Redistrict ADEMS

ADEMS are currently used as a way for grassroots activists to have a seat at the table within the party.  However, there are numerous improvements we can make with how they are handled and where they are handled so that the local activists are actually making it inside the door.

Lenore fully supports redistricting our ADEMs, creating solid rules in monitoring and the election process including but not limited to checking voter registration, no pens on the counting table, all observers get to actually observe the counting so they can see the ballots, no looking at ballots as they are being dropped in the box as a form of voter intimidation and the like. This is not the venue to buy votes.

Baseline Support to All Counties

Lenore Albert wants to continue the Big Blue Wave which included augmenting the unions with outside local grassroots groups help; create baseline manuals for each central county committee; continue to shift more money to red districts and start our policy conversations the day after election is over.

She continues to support making the contacts of local delegates available to local clubs, central committee chairs and regional directors to synergize local organizing goals.

Red & Rural District Support

Lenore Albert will support the CDP in finding ways to establish reliable internet access to our rural areas and liberal media venues (e.g. radio talk shows). She will continue to advocate for shifting money into the red districts and to bring elected officials into the red districts so that we can bridge programs.

Lenore Albert owes no one and no one owns her in this Party. We will level the playing field where everyone will have a seat at this table.

Her plan will reform the California Democratic Party in such a way that will support all districts and the issues we all believe in so we can fight for economic justice, social justice and environmental justice.

See you at the Convention!
